I lost the charger that came with my digital camera. So, I bought a 5V AC Adapter. Is this the same thing as a battery charger? Or will it only work while it's plugged into the wall now?
AC and DC are completely different. Your digi cam is designed and capable of only accepting DC low level power. If you plug AC into it it will not work and/or will FRY the camera circuits if the voltage is rated to high.
