how many pedal does a guitarist really need?
well so far i have a JH-1 wah pedal and a BBE green screamer
so 2 so far...
how much more pedals do i need
and please dont suggest any multi fx pedals cuz they sound like crap thanks
also im running through a marshall 100dfx and a Fender hotrod deluxe
i go from my fender 50's reissue strat into a digitech xp-100 whammy wah, use the wah settings on the pedal then straight into my fender front man 100 watt. I use the distortion from the amp. Ive always used this setup at gigs and shows, and its never failed me.
I own a boss dd-3 delay pedal and a eh small clone pedal, but never use them live.
It all depends on what soudn you need, if your playing metal then you need good disotrtion, psychedelic rock then you need vibrato/phaser etc.
A good guitarist can make his sound interesting without effects, and running your guitar through heaps of pedals will dampen the overall tone and is a pain to control on stage!
