Guitar/Amp/Pedal Question!?!?

Well, I have started gigging at school events and I am in need of a larger amp I believe, I have a Fender Princeton 112 SE, I was wondering about tube amps, I play mainly Rock/Metal/ occasionally Blues, I was thinking about the Epiphone Valve Junior Half Stack, but I was also wondering is it loud enough and if i got it would I have to get special Tube pedals? If so, what should I get?
Thanks Marshal.

That question depends heavily on your budget. A tube amplifier is always going to be a better way to go. I am not familiar with the Epiphone half stacks, so cannot comment on them. I am still a fan of "combo" amps, which are the ones with the speaker and the amplifer section together in one amp.

People always think they need to be louder than they actually need to be. It's a good idea to learn early that louder is not always better.

If your budget is in the 400-800 range you might consider some of the Fender Blues series amplifiers. Or maybe a small Mesa Boogie amplifier.

As for pedals? You don't need to buy special pedals to work with a tube amplifier. A pedal is a pedal.
