Printers' Lasers
The printer laser is a computer printer which instantly produces great quality graphics and text on a plain paper. The printer laser employ a xerographic process of printing as with multifunction printers or the MFP's or the digital photocopiers, but also differ from the analog photocopiers in the image which is produced by direct scanning of laser beam on the photoreceptor of the printer. A laser printer has many important advantages as compared to the other printers. As opposed to the impact printers the laser printer speed varies and depends on the graphics intensity of the work that is being processed. The fast model can print about 200 monochrome pages per minute; the fastest color printers can print about 100 pages per minute. In the laser printers the very high speed printers are used for mass mailings like the utility bills or the credit cards. An inkjet printer or the dot-matrix printers take the incoming data and imprint it directly it by slow process and needs to wait in-between process for more data. But a printer laser may not work so because this large amount of data requires processing the printing system in a speedy and continuous process. The image data is then stored in a big memory capable bank that represent the entire dot on the page. A Dotmatrix Printer is a computer printer with the print head that goes up and down or back and forth motion on the page. Much like the typewriter the dot-matrix printer prints an ink soaked cloth ribbon on the paper. But letters here are drawn on a dot matrix and so the varied fonts and graphic are produced. The printing involves the mechanical pressure; they can create carbonless copies as well as carbon copies. In a Inkjet Printer the images produced are digital image produced by propelling variably sized droplets of ink on the page. These printers are small and inexpensive to large and expensive ones. The advantages of this jet printer are that it is quieter and print finer and more details due to the higher print head resolution. The Multifunction printer device is an office machine that does the multiple functions like the scanner, printer, Fax, photocopier, and e-mail. The MFP's are now available for home, enterprises, small business and commercial purposes. Therefore the quality, cost, output quality and throughput vary. But they do all the same functions. Like the scanning, printing, fax and photocopy.

It's about analog to digital converters?
Excuse my ignorance of the subject but; "can the ADC itself be programed (modified) so that the output of the device no longer is a carbon copy of the original input signal?"
Yup. Add a transfer function. How do you do that? That's another question.
