What order do my electric guitar effects pedals go?
I was wondering what order my effects pedals should go for my electric guitar. I own a
Digitech RP80 processor
Boss Ds-1 Distortion
Digitech Eric Clapton Crossroads Pedal
DOD FX-84 Milk Box Compressor Pedal
Ibanez AW7 Tone Lok Autowah
Danelectro Fab D-2 Overdrive
Danelectro Fab Echo
Danelectro Fab Chourus
Danelectro Fab Flange
Danelectro Dj-4 corned beef Reverb
and a Boss TU-2 Chromatic Stompbox Tuner
can anyone help me put these pedals in the right order for my guitar? I like to play alot of blues and jazz, and my favorite to play is classic rock solos from AC/DC and Guns-n-Roses. I mostly play rock though. The processor is used mainly for the pedal on the side that i can program for wah or volume. I dont use the sounds very much, the processor to me sounds very fake and digital and my pedals do not sound that way they sound solid and clean. Please help, Thank You for your time.
You have a lot so I won't address the whole lineup. Just think of it like this - you DON'T want echo/delay/reverb before a distortion/overdrive unit because it will 'distort' both the original signal AND the 'echo'. Same with chorus, flange, wah etc. Most compression is put on at the END of the signal unless you are going for a compressed THEN affected sound. Hope this helps a little. Best way is to experiment - which should keep you busy for a while with all that. I've tried to pare mine down to the very basics and not put something in the effect chain just because I have it. Each unit corrups the sound a little more. GOOD LUCK!
