Will using a pl splitter on my guitar pedal hurt sound (bypass) quality?
I want to connect a pl splitter to my guitar pedal, so one cable will continue to the other pedals(and finally - to the amp), and the other directly to a digital tuner. will it hurt the signal going from my guitar to the amp, and therefore hurt my sound quality?
btw the tuner i'm talking about is from a multi effect pedal with really BAD bypass,
so i want it out of my chain.

Where did you learn the term pl splitter? I can only assume you want to connect your 1/4" guitar cable to a Y connector that splits the signal and sends it in two different directions. Anytime you split the signal like that you will degrade the signal however, it's not necessarily all that significant in most cases. If you do it at the beginning of your effects chain, every pedal will be boosting the signal as it goes on its way to the amplifier so, it will probably not be that noticable. Your other option of course is to repair the faulty bypas circuit in that MF pedal. You could also just buy a different tuner. I use Y connectors (splitters) all the time in my home studio setup and occasionally I will run into a situation where I'm gettng a weak recording signal so, I will have to reconfigure it to get it to sound right but, for the most part, Y connectors are a necessary tool in order to be able to do things that the design engineers have no concept of when they design equipment for musicians. You will find that the best designed equipment are the BOSS effects processors. Which, by the way, are a much better sounding and ultimately cheaper configuration than any effects pedal chain you could setup. They are also a lot quieter and much easier to use. Just a thought.
