Electric Acoustic Guitar Recording - How Can The Best Results Be Achieved
An electric acoustic guitar is a superb and straightforward guitar for accompaniment either to the melodies you may have composed or those you wish to cover. Therefore knowing how to record professionally when playing is something that many people, including myself, are interested in. Like many others I had no experience when I first started so I felt it would be a good thing to put down some useful information that, with any luck ,, may help others:
The electric acoustic guitar, by definition should have a pick up. This may be factory fitted or an after market add-on. No matter what you will see something which will directly get the sound being made by way of a connection. Also, it is possible to position a microphone on the guitar and connect that right into a recording unit.
So there are three options - mic up the guitar, make use of the factory fitted pick-ups or install an after market pick-up.
Once there is a method of getting the signal from the guitar electronically then a recording interface is needed. It is a device made to take that signal, transform it into a suitable format then store it. The main thing then becomes the quality of the device being used to record. The higher quality product that you buy then its likely that the higher quality results you're going to end up getting.
The application of acoustic guitar effects pedals should likewise be looked at. Some good electric acoustic guitar players in fact make use of a lot more effects than many electric guitar players. There are various effects that just boost the sound of the guitar slightly and items like compression pedals can even out the volume level between your high and low guitar strings. Reverb will imitate the audio you can get from performing in a huge space, whilst chorus will deliver the effect that multi-tracking has been made use of. Just about any effect can be used straight ahead of the recording system or may be used while in the processing and engineering of your sound later on, when you most likely have much more time.
The kind of pick-up getting used can also affect the sound. You'll find slight variations between the manufacturers if you decide to need to fit an after market type there are a few alternatives you could think about, however if your electric acoustic guitar has one installed then you'll most likely have to make do.
If recording is being done in your own home then the only limitation on time is going to be that which you have imposed on yourself. If, by chance, you're playing in a recording studio then you'll desire to stick to the allotted time and also make very best use of that time because they're outrageously expensive locations.
And so, to sum it up, the cabability to record your guitar playing is fairly painless providing you possess the proper gear. The sounds which you want to get will be readily available via effects from the live recording or perhaps post recording. Don't be turned off by modern technology since there are loads of websites around that will help, which include training clips. The electric acoustic guitar is certainly a adaptive as well as super sounding guitar which happens to be ideal for recording.

Guitar Effects Pedalboard?
I'm looking into switching from multi-effects pedals to a pedal board with individual pedals. the only problem i'm having is deciding which pedals to buy. I already have some good distortion pedals but as for all the chorus, delay, eq's i'm not sure what to buy. Could someone give me some brands and pedals that i should look at and if you think i'll need something else for the pedal board then let me know. Thanx
chorus, reverb, EQ, and compressor's are must haves. Those pedals are pretty much all you need to play any style of music.
i recommend boss if you have the cash.
or digitech if you're into the sound they produce.
