My floor is making noise when people walk on it?
Basically, my room is right next to the kitchen. The floor is all hardwood, but it's old. People constantly run around my area, and there is a depression in the floor that makes a very loud thumping noise when someone so much as walks by. What could I buy to stabilize/equalize the floor and take the thump out of every damn step? I hear feet all damn day.
I've been sleeping with earplugs for years. This noise gives off vibrations...
You might want to cover the noisy floor with carpet, or some similar material to dampen the sound; or if the floor has loose floor boards, you could dismantle it and nail them down more securely.
