Bears first-round trading will not be as bad as people make it seem?
I hear all kinds of people talk about how the bears was far too much in giving up two first round picks for Cutler. I think they are overreacting, because if you look at Jerry Angelo drafting history, First Round does not his strong point. These two first round of attacks could have very well turned into another Rex Grossman and Michael Haynes. I would much rather trade the picks for them then draft a stud QB 2 more busts. Angelo is also getting on the studs in the 3rd, 4th large, and 5 Round. Especially with people like Lance Briggs, Alex Brown, Mark Anderson, Nate Vashem and so on. I think draft picks are often overestimated because it is a lottery, are never a sure thing.
I totally agree that first round Draft picks are over-rated. Check out the last ten years of the first round takes the bears: Curtis Williams '08-OT (Back up, Orlando Pace signed for this place) '07 TE Greg Olsen (good choice), '06-NONE, '05-Cedric Benson-RB (BUST), '04-Tommy Harris, DT (Pro Bowler), '03-DE Michael Haynes (chest), '02 Mark Colombo-OT (a few solid years, not spectacular), '01-David Terrell, WR (BUST), '00-LB Brian Urlacher (Pro Bowler), '99-Cade McNown, QB (BUST), '98-Curtis Enis RB (BUST) ... It's not like a first rounder is a sure thing. The Bears had selected seven of their last 11 first round was Busts or non-existent. Look at every team in the league you will find similar results. I do not believe that two first And a 3rd rounder Rounder is too much at all ... Listen to Last reviewed: 11 Denver first Rounders: R. Clady, J. Moss, J. Cutler, None, D. Williams, G. Foster, A. Lelie, W. Middlebroks, D. Oneal, A. Wilson. How many of them are you familiar? 4 or 5? Heck, only three of them still on the Denver roster. First round draft picks are gold not immediately how many people seem to think.
