ALFA ROMEO 156 GEARBOX SELECTOR STUCK IN WRONG POSITION AND CAN'T REMOVE AGAIN?
Hi, please help, i took the gear selector out of the top of my gearbox by accident earlier hoping to adjust the selector as it had become stiff from left to right. i accidently removed what i have been told is the gear selector fork from the top of the engine, its the part that attaches to the ball joints which in turn go back to the gear stick in the car. i have removed it, and now put it back in the car, however the car is now stuck in a gear as i put it back in with the selector extended the wrong way, it now won't budge at all the opposite way and i can't get it back out of the gearbox.
the car will roll freely with the clutch pedal pressed, however only makes slight movement with no clutch in, so its definitely stuck in gear.
any help really really appreciated!
Suggest you go back to it in reverse order or ask a Alfa technician to fit it back after his normal working hours.
