How do I create super low end for a bass cab.?
So I have a Mesa Powerhouse 8x10 and don't get me wrong I love it but im trying to get the low end bass sound that you would get from a typical hip hop song where its more felt than heard yet there is still the distinction of different notes. Even if I ride the low E it still has a brighter quality to it than what im trying to achieve. Does anyone have any ideas on recreating studio bass in a live setting. I want panties to vibrate off the waist if you know what im saying? Here's what im working with:

That Behringer amplifier is good as long as you are playing a 4-string bass and it's marginally adequate for a 5-string bass. According to Behringer, that amp provides selectable low-frequency filters of 30 Hz or 50 Hz. You need to select 30 Hz for bass. Why? Because the low E vibrates at approximately 40 Hz. Therefore, 50 Hz, will give you an unclear bass sound on your E string. But, 30 Hz is more than adequate providing plenty of low end response for a 4-string bass. It's your speakers, I'm concerned about. You appear to have somewhat of a mismatch from amp to speakers. At 4 Ohms, according to Behringer, you are putting out 2 x 1,400 Watts into 4 Ohms (that's 1,400 watts per channel). According to Mesa Boogie (who appears to be hiding most of their specifications), you are likely handling 1,200 watts at 4 Ohms. However, when driving bass speakers, it's usually a good idea to drive them with twice the wattage. So, your amplifier peaks would be a better match for those speakers if they were 2,400 watts. You have 1,400 and that's ok, but it's not the best match up for a great bass sound. Mesa Boogie provides no information about the frequency response of those speakers. Since they are 10" speakers (small in my opinion for bass - I prefer 15" to 18") that will take away from the deep low end response and I would bet that you are only getting around a 50 Hz frequency response out of those speakers. Mesa Boogie does not provide this information at their web site.
So, to get the low end response you are looking for, I would suggest that you add a powered subwoofer like the JBL ES250P to your configuration. I also use a power amplifier to drive my bass sound. I have a QSC GX5 (500 watts per channel) stereo power amplifier. The speakers I selected to go with that amplifier (In my opinion JBL Speakers have always been superior for bass) are the JBL JRX115 2-way speaker cabinets (250 watts continuous capacity - JBL recommends 500 watt per channel amplifier to drive those speakers). But, I only have a low end frequency response of 50 Hz with those speakers. I also play a 5-string bass and drop tune the B string to a low A0 (27.5 Hz). So, I needed to add a pair of JBL ES250P 400 watt powered subwoofers to my configuration to get me down below 27.5 Hz (the ES250Ps provide a 25 Hz frequency response). When I turn on those subwoofers, I rock the house and the audience feels every note. I constantly have professional bass players asking me how I get that "awesome bass sound" (their words, not mine).
Here is what I have ...
Ibanez SR505 5-string Bass --> BOSS GT-10B Bass Effects Processor --> QSC GX5 Stereo Power Amp --> Behringer SX3040 Sonic Exciter (sound enhancer) --> 2-JBL JRX115 2-way speaker cabinets --> 2-JBL ES250P powered subwoofers.
The addition of a subwoofer should get you the sound you want. You might also try bridging your power amp, that should boost the wattage to the speakers (check your amplifier manual for details). However, you will likely end up with a 2,800 to 1,200 watt amp to speaker ratio and that's more than the optimum 2,400 to 1,200 watt ratio so, don't ever turn your amp up all the way, you could damage those speakers. You should also try to get Mesa Boogie to give you all the specifications on that speaker cabinet. http://www.mesaboogie.com/US/info.html
