Replacing the Printer Power Supply
If you have destroyed your hp printer power cord you will need to replace it with the correct model of printer power cable. finding the right printer power cable for your printer can sometimes be difficult, but it is vital. This guide was written to help you understand both why it is important to find the right printer power adapter and what utilities there are to help you find the correct printer power adapter for your specific model of HP printer.
Bear in mind, these HP printer power cords come in many different models with different charge profiles for each model and manufacturer of printer, this is because each printer power cord gives a slightly different amount of electircal power through different kinds of connectors. be aware though that just matching the type of connector to fit your HP printer is just the beginning, because it's not enough that you simply match the kind of connector, you will need to also find one that outputs the specific amps and voltage that your printer needs. using a hp printer power adapter that does not have the right connector may be just about impossible, but using a power adapter that gives the wrong amount of voltage or amps might either destroy your printer, damage your printer or just not work at all.
Voltage and amps tend to be a bit intimidating, it's a good idea to clear it up a bit. To explain it as simply as possible, voltage is a measurement of the pressure of the electric current and Amps is a measurement of the amount of electric current flowing through the wire watts is a composite of both measurements. that is some helpful information, but it is one of those things that is usually already taken into account by the creators of the utilities we will provide near the end of this article.
You may believe that you canuse a universal power adapters to power your printer, this will not end well with most printers because ofthe proprietary plug that is not an option. However with some, it can work, but be careful, because if you provide the wrong voltage or amps you can destroy or seriously damage the printer, and since most modern HP printers use multi-prong plugs that have different power levels on each prong it can be very difficult or impossible to properly set the universal power adapter. It's best to get the correct power adapter designed for your printer rather than mucking about setting the universal power supply and hoping you got it right.
There are only a few places you can go to find the right kind of power supply for your printer, luckily there are some tools that can provide accurate , helpful information that can help you locate the correct power adapter for your printer. one of these tools is the manufacturer's website, they will give you the model number of the power adapter of the printer you have. Another good place to get this info, if you have a HP printer, is http://hppoweradapters.com not only will it give you the power adapter that is normally used for your printer, it will also tell you which power cord will also work for your printer, and give you a link to the best place you can buy one at a very low price.

What power supply do I need for a Toshiba Portege A200 laptop?
The power supply cable for my laptop doesn't work. I am not sure what happened to it but when I plug it in it doesn't register any input of electricity supply. I need a new one. I know that it requires: AC120/230V and 50/60Hz. The battery is Lithium Ion. After searching there seem to be so many available but all list different bits of information. Problem is, I don't know what any of it really means!? I have found a universal power supply with either 70 or 90 watts. How does this relate to what I need and how can I find out which is the correct one for my laptop without it blowing up first!? Help! Also, if I plug the laptop into a 240v instead of 230V will it blow up or what are the effects of doing this?
check this out it gives you the info.
