Behringer GM108 True Analog Modeling 15-Watt Guitar Amplifier Review
The Behringer GM108 True Analog Modeling 15-Watt Guitar Amplifier is a great practice amplifier for those just getting started with the electric guitar or for seasoned vets who just need a good sounding solution to use at home.
It features an original Behringer vintage-designed 20 watt driver (speaker) which is especially geared to provide a great deal of overdrive for guitars with both single-coil and humbucking pickups. Controls include a full 3 band EQ as well as a CD input jack so you can jam along with your favorite tunes. The headphone jack also features speaker emulation so you get a rich sound even when not using the built in speaker.

Behringer is a very well respected name when it comes to guitar amplifiers so it was no surprise to us that the Behringer GM108 True Analog Modeling 15-Watt Guitar Amplifier has received some very good reviews from people who have purchased it on sites like Amazon.com and ConsumerReports.com.
The first thing you should realize about this amp is that it is designed for practice! If you're looking for an amp that's going to keep up with a drummer/bassist etc… then you should go for something a little louder. With that in mind however this looks like a great choice for those in need of a practice amp.
The majority of reviews for this amp have been very positive. People really like the sound it provides and definitely the versatility. Reviewers have stated that they use this amp for all sorts of different styles, in addition to being a practice amp.
Reviewers have commented that the build quality is also quite good. Behringer is known to touring musicians as a tough and roadworthy brand so it's nice to hear that they didn't cheap out on their budget amps!

Jazz bass sound?
I am thinking about buying a fender jazz bass or squier vintage modified jazz bass because i heard many jazz basses produce this really deep crunching sound. I don't know if it is the bass itself or if its overdrive,distortion,etc. Some examples of this sound is in some asian kung fu generation songs and in Robert Trujillo in Metallica, especially the live version of "For whom the bell tolls". They both use basses with 2 single coils, one mid and one bridge. So i was wondering if they were distorting their sound or if its the bass' natural tone.
Most of these guys tone is due to effects not the bass itself.
When Cliff Burton started overdriving amps and using distortion pedals it was kinda a new thing and their were`nt
a lot of product to emulate that sound ( Cliff Burton Mettallica`s first bassist)
