Where can I get a decent volume pedal and is that the same thing as a wah?
And what are compression pedals?

Volumes and wahs are two different things. Volume pedals make the sound louder or quieter, while wah pedals make the sound go "wah wah wah wah". Sometimes wah pedals can double as volume pedals, yes, but that depends on the brand. It has been my impression that most wah pedals cannot double as volume pedals.
I would check your local Guitar Center, pawn shop, and go online to musiciansfriend.com to look for them.
A compression pedal evens out the sound - it makes loud noises quieter and quieter noises somewhat louder. This can be good if you want a signal to be very level - instruments like vocals, bass, and acoustic guitars have wide dynamic ranges. Using a compressor will smooth this out so that they have the impression of being of even consistency, sound level wise.
Compression is bad when too much of it is used (pumping, breathing), when it is used incorrectly (attack and decay settings set to be ineffective), and when it is used with noisy signal sources. When noise is present, a compressor will emphasize it along with the other quiet notes. So usually a compressor is used before distortion, in a guitarists signal chain.
